There is a bus dispatch app for GWR staff and I think late departures can be logged by staff on the ground at stations. Not sure if that feeds through to Tiger though for the CIS? And of course small places like Melksham don’t have bus coordinators or station staff.
Your proposed ‘Information At The Station’ scheme can perhaps obtain numbers for staff at Swindon, Chippenham and Westbury so you can try to keep tabs with them?
Agree with ChrisB that it’s far from simple providing tracking given the ragtag mix of executive coaches, normal buses and everything in between that are used for RRS services.
It’s like stepping back in time 15-20 years when all you could refer to at a bus stop was a sheet of paper with the timetable on.

Not the same company at all. Different registration numbers at Companies House.
Appalling programming. You should know all about that subject?

Buses are trackable by their owning company, not to a company that they are on hire to.
So there is no way that departure boards can show anything other than due time, and of course they disappear a minute after they're due to depart.
Little that can be done until tech is improved.

Trains run by First. Bus was a First bus. Same company.
If there's no way they can show anything but due time, why do they not say "Due Time" correctly, rather than "On Time" which lies / is false information?

You'd need to set up numerous new bustimes feeds for many RRS services, and then the coach's transponder be switched between all these feeds, depending on which RRS service each coach was assigned to each week. Heavy workload for several people at least.

Well you say that but through open data, sites like bustimes.org show tracking information for a wide range of buses. I think it may be mandated by the Traffic Commissioners.
In the same way First Travel Solutions specify accessible vehicles presumably they could require tracking information which could then be fed through to screens or Worldline for Tiger feeds.
I can't place a "former ticket hall, which provides direct access to the Bakerloo line". If anything, the one I'm thinking of on the Eastbourne Terrace side would be closer to the District line.
It's going to be on the -2 level of Paddington Square, nearly opposite the new entrance to the Bakerloo line in the same development.

Looking down from the top of the steps, I felt it was far more potential than actually welcoming just yet.
Potential indeed. Since January 2008! That's when the cattle market closed, with redevelopment promised within a few years.
Delayed by the 2008 global financial crisis, and the continuous political and financial crises since then. Two local government reorganisations during that period and also the Tories all but bankrupting the county (now unitary) council.

How frustrating, I have just dipped into the Coffee Shop while away on a trip to Norfolk, just to find a competition to which I could immediately give 2 answers, both of which have been solved (9& 12)!
But I think I can also get 13. It's a duck decoy, and there's two left working in ,"our" area. It doesn't look like Slimbridge, so I think it's the one at Abbotsbury Swannery.

Having looked up ORR requirements, rail replacement buses must be shown on station departure boards in real time, so even somewhere like Melksham would show them on departure displays (although appears the departure board is whatever is there, (even a manual chalked up one)
The buses must also show correct destination (or rail replacement), not blank destination. Inside they have to have audio and visual announcements of the next stop, and if automatic announcements are not working then driver has to clearly use PA to announce approach to stops. (This has only been a recent 100% requirement, as transition since 2023 Public Service Vehicles Assessable Information legislation has now ended)
Seems to be more of a grey area regarding real time (eg GPS based) location data and times displayed on arrival boards. Currently appears to be more of an aspiration than an requirement.
I went down to Melksham Station at about quarter to three this afternoon (to see if the Smart Parking sign is still on show) and took the opportunity to observe.
At 14:40, The platform display said "No services from this platform'. The screen that overlooks the pick up and drop off car park area showed a number of buses - next one 15:00, to Chippenham, showing "on time"
At 15:08, I took another look at the display, and it said that the next service was bus to Westbury, "on time" for 16:10, with the next bus to Chippenham not until 17:26.
At 15:13, A bus rolls up headed to Chippenham.
Buses claiming to be "on time", not appearing and disappearing off the board seem calculated to mislead and worry customers. Buses can track these days, and if they're not doing so, the system should not say anything which might suggest that they are.
--------
Trains had passed through at 14:58 (southbound stone trucks) and 15:14 (northbound IET). Neither stopped.

TfW's T1 bus between Carmarthen and Aberystwyth... I wonder how it interacts with that.
(Catching the T1 early in the new year, the impression was that the bus could run to time but with summer time traffic on the roads, would struggle.)

A quick Google search throws up the following
From National Rail website
A different timetable operates when rail replacement services are in use, and journeys may take longer than usual. However, if the replacement services are significantly delayed against that temporary change to the normal timetable, you can claim for delay compensation in the usual way.
From As an example, TfW has this
Buses can take longer to make a journey than trains. If you've made your journey on a planned rail replacement bus, we'll provide compensation if the bus arrives late, rather than the rail service it has replaced.
If you've caught an emergency rail replacement bus that wasn't planned in advance, we'll provide compensation based on the time your train was scheduled to arrive.

One of these services much eased travel related to the business I was running at the time - the need was for a post-eatery straightforward way to return from Oxford to Clapham Junction and the train provided a magic carpet straight through at precisely the right time. When I used them, from memory, these services tended to be comfortably 50% occupancy. They were never seen to carry fresh air.
Also, I've aired the tale of the late afternoon service between Chatham and Oxford that was precisely timed to be maximally useful for both myself and the couple who used it from Dover as one leg of a Paris-Oxford journey and rendezvoused with me on the train after the call at Chatham.
Now, the same journey, for them, would involve Eurostar and then a transfer via I can't recall to the Elizabeth Line to Paddington, and in rather less time. That change empathises how much infrastructure has been built since the 1980s, but at the time there was something to be said for 'On at Dover, off at Oxford'.

Can you confirm my understanding here - as I understood it, a rail replacement bus is in effect a trin on the road, and if a GWR rail replacement bus gets held up, you can claim delay/repay in just the same way.
I am answering ...
Darren Carey
If you use bus replacement you need a ticket and no delay repay will denie any claim
If you use bus replacement you need a ticket and no delay repay will denie any claim
My reply
Darren Carey - No - you are wrong. A rail replacement bus counts as a train as far as delay/repay is concerned. However, rail replacement buses typically don't track so you may have to appeal an initial automated denial as it assumes buses are on time.
If you use a normal registered public bus then, yes, there is no commitment from either the bus or the train company so compensate or make other arrangements for you if a delay or cancellation results in a missed connection.
