For members of the West Wiltshire Rail Users Group, newsletter No. 150 is hitting your doormat this week. Eight pages of interesting articles including "The true cost of buying from a station ticket machine", "More direct London services from
SWR» ", "Rail Regulator launches investigation into Wales and Western Performance", "Proposed Bristol to Oxford Service" and "Funding for our railways".
Our
AGM▸ takes place on 20th March, starting at 19:30 at the Bethesda Church Hall - across the square behing Trinity Church from Trowbridge Station. The AGM should be brief, after which we'll hear from our one (forum) Roger Witt telling us about the trials, tribulations and lighter side of being a rail tour guide from his being on many tours and guiding some. Visitors are welcome (£2 if you are not a member) as observers at the AGM and to listen to Roger and partake in discussions and networking. The meeting is timed to finish in time for attendees to catch trains to their home stations around a quarter past nine.
An excellent Committee Meeting last night - decisions on speakers for May and the outing in July, interaction reports with the new line / area manager with SWR and the upcoming line and timetabling conference with
GWR▸ , on reports from stations groups, checking on the group's finances and admin for the AGM, and so forth. The committee meets every 2 months and is much in correspondence in between.
