20th March 2024 - meeting includes AGM (Annual General Meeting); rail industry speaker
22nd May 2024 - meeting; speaker on rail from the community
13th July 2024 - Annual Outing
18th September 2024 - meeting; rail industry speaker
27th November 2024 - meeting;  speaker on rail from the community

Since things change around fast these days and WWRUG» (West Wiltshire Rail Users Group - about) is very topical, speakers are booked and confirmed at much shorter notice than has been traditional. And these days each meeting includes an update from committee members on what's going on at the time, with opportunities for inputs and questions.  The committee meets every 2 months with representatives from Warminster, Dilton Marsh, Westbury, Frome, Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon, Avoncliff and Melksham.

All meetings - 19:00 (teas and coffees) for 19:30 start, at the Bethesda Church Hall in Trowbridge which is about 100 yards from the station.  Entry to all four meetings is included in the membership fee (annually £8 / £10 family next year as I recall) and that includes four printed newsletters and all the meetings.  Guests are welcome to attend meetings, at £2 per person for each meeting.

For members of the West Wiltshire Rail Users Group, newsletter No. 150 is hitting your doormat this week.  Eight pages of interesting articles including "The true cost of buying from a station ticket machine", "More direct London services from SWR» (South Western Railway - about)", "Rail Regulator launches investigation into Wales and Western Performance", "Proposed Bristol to Oxford Service" and "Funding for our railways".

Our AGM (Annual General Meeting) takes place on 20th March, starting at 19:30 at the Bethesda Church Hall - across the square behing Trinity Church from Trowbridge Station. The AGM should be brief, after which we'll hear from our one (forum) Roger Witt telling us about the trials, tribulations and lighter side of being a rail tour guide from his being on many tours and guiding some.  Visitors are welcome (£2 if you are not a member) as observers at the AGM and to listen to Roger and partake in discussions and networking.  The meeting is timed to finish in time for attendees to catch trains to their home stations around a quarter past nine.

An excellent Committee Meeting last night - decisions on speakers for May and the outing in July, interaction reports with the new line / area manager with SWR and the upcoming line and timetabling conference with GWR (Great Western Railway), on reports from stations groups, checking on the group's finances and admin for the AGM, and so forth.  The committee meets every 2 months and is much in correspondence in between.
