The very best of evening can have the very worst of starts ... which I won't dwell on.  At least I am dry now!

Jon, Ben and Niomi from GWR (Great Western Railway) spoke to around 30 members of the West Wilts Rail User group and a sprinkling of RailFuture members.   A really good evening with Jon filling us all in on service and reliability issues, and with significant look at what could be coming up and the constraints thereon.  Ben - now permanent and not just interim station manager and very much looking forward at Westbury.  Niomi looking at the provision of customer service and interaction, and our first contact going forward at the Coffee Shop

I had pre-alerted Niomi to the topics likely to come up / be of interest, and I'm delighted that the presentations tailored to that - almost embarrassed at the time spend on the route to Swindon when there are Bath/Bristol, Reading/Paddington, Salisbury/[London/Southampton], Weymouth and the West of England.

Plans were for the meeting to run from 19:30 to about 21:00 as carriages (on rails, at both platforms) were due at 21:19. However, many left but we were still talking half an hour of more later, as we cleared the room.

I have a lot of time for this "gang of three" and 99% of their operation and management colleagues ... but they have frustrating constraints, which we let them know we appreciate.
