"From Platform Seat to Viaduct Maintenance"
Phil Deaves, Network Development Manager, Great Western Railway

2nd May 2019, 19:30, Bethesda Baptist Church, Newtown, Trowbridge
Coffee from 19:00

This venue is a 5 minute walk from Trowbridge Station. Leave the station on the Bath / Swindon bound platform, cross diagonally over the large roundabout with the church in the middle, and the venue (the Baptist church) is a few yards up the road opposite.

It's evenings like this I could really do with a later train back to Melksham.   The 18:03 will get me to the Venus for 18:20, the 19:15 will get me there for 19:30.    But for the return journey, I have a choice of the 20:34 train, change to bus in Bath and get home at 22:16, or more realistically (i.e. stay to the end), the 22:31 train, change to bus in Bath and home shortly after midnight.   The last train is 19:37 ... what we need is another train 3 hours later ... 21:37 from Trowbridge ... frustrating thing is that the train's available - parked up in the sidings at Westbury, lease costs paid ... just crew needed!

So Bethesda Baptist Church is located on the planet Venus. Might be a bit hot and uncomfortable as a place to hold a rail related meeting.

I’ll get my coat.
